CRISIS MOUNTING WITH LOCAL PITTSBURGH FOOD BANKS
July 21, 2008
It has recently come to our attention, the desperate situation that local food banks find themselves in.
"Skyrocketing fuel prices and double digit inflation may reduce donations as much
as $500,000.00 this year" according to Iris Valenti of the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank.

I'm Dr. Casey Phillips, a former board director for the Pennsylvania Chiropractic Association and I'm leading the charge to help. With the help of the home office we have initiated a plan and are asking all members of the PCA in Southwestern Pennsylvania to sponsor a 2 week food drive in their chiropractic offices in an effort to restock dwindling food supplies.
|
 |
| The Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank currently serves 120,000 people, mostly families. The summer can be particularly tough on the bank as children, many of whom are eligible for free school lunches are home during vacation.

How you can help
For the two week period between August 15 and August 30, 2008 we are asking all patients to donate generously to our drive. Both the North Side office and Bethel Park office will serve as drop off sites for patients and non-patients alike. Additionally every new patient entering our offices with a generous donation ($10 value or more) of non-perishable food will receive their consultation, examination and initial x-rays at NO CHARGE!

 |
| People from Pittsburgh have always stepped to the plate when feeding our needy.
We need you to step up now more than ever! |
 |
| There will be numerous chiropractic offices participating with this endeavor. Please check back regularly as we will be providing the list of all involved! Please contact us with any questions. |
